Overview
Summary
A Sports and Active Recreation Strategy provides a comprehensive evidence-based approach to the delivery of sport and active recreation facilities. The strategy is important in shaping the future of sport and active recreation in the Douglas Shire over the next ten years in terms of infrastructure, support, programs and funding.
Council will investigate participation, usage, clubs needs and infrastructure auditing for future development of infrastructure, programs and identify where support is required.
Through a robust consultation plan, the community will be engaged to advise us of their sport and active recreation activity and to identify needs in the community. Using statistics, trends and understanding value to the community, a strategy for the period from now until 2032.
