More than a dozen talented local artists have contributed to Douglas Shire Council’s inaugural “Art in the Council Foyer” exhibition celebrating World Environment Day.
Mayor Julia Leu said it was amazing to see such creative talents in the Council foyer.
“Art in the Council Foyer is a concept I’m delighted we’ve been able to revive under the new Douglas Shire Council and World Environment Day is the perfect way to celebrate this milestone,” Mayor Leu said.
“It always amazes me to see the diversity of creative talent in our community and I would really like to thank all of the artists who have contributed to make our Council foyer such a vibrant space.
“I really do urge people to come out and have a look at the exhibition and see for themselves how lucky we are to live here among such talented artists who are so passionate about the environment.”
The free exhibition, in the foyer of Council’s Administration Building in Mossman, is open from 8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Friday until June 20.
