Douglas Shire Council will be concreting a narrow section of the Bloomfield Track which will require a temporary closure between Luana Creek through to the Zig Zag Road turn-off.
The concrete will be laid across the width of the road and requires 4-5 days to cure before vehicles can drive on the pavement. This stretch of road is constantly damaged during severe weather events and the pavement improvement will make it significantly more resilient.
The closure will commence Wednesday 19 January and weather permitting, will reopen Monday 31 January 2022. In the event that heavy rain delays work, the opening day may be pushed back and if this occurs, a further update will be provided.
The construction team will however, be making every effort to avoid any delays.
