CONCESSIONAL travel on the Daintree Ferry has been extended for another 10 months in a boost for Douglas Shire cardholders.
Douglas Shire Council has extended the current period, which was due to expire
next month, until April 30, 2019.
Eligible cardholders living north of the Daintree River can also buy another book of
visitor tickets during this period.
Council has maintained concessional travel arrangements for several years.
The renewal of concession cards will be advertised in April 2019.
Cards issues in April 2019 will be valid for two years and the renewal process in April
2021 will take into account any changes required under the new ferry services
contract, which will come into effect July 1, 2021.
