Council will implement the following works plan tho restore the Nautilus Street nature strip.
The site will initially be cleaned using machinery to remove all exotic species, weeds and unsuitable species.
Three feature gardens will be constructed (see map below). The gardens are approximately 10m x 20m and will consist of colourful flowering feature trees and shrubs on the edges.
A corridor of trees will be retained along the middle of the nature strip.
Nautilus St residents are requested not to park on the nature strip while the works are being carried out.
Clear site – Removal of all weeds and inappropriate plants
Prep site – Mark out the new garden sites; top dress as necessary; remove any remaining weeds etc
Install irrigation – Install irrigation via existing taps to garden beds only
Mulch site – Mulch garden beds and free-standing trees/plants
Commence planting – Commence planting to new garden beds
Complete planting – Complete planting of garden beds from new propogated plants
All works dependent on weather, contractors/precinct crews availability
