Introduction
Douglas Shire Council has committed to installing practice cricket pitch nets at Cooya Beach. The proposed location is in Lou Prince Park, as indicated below.
The pitch will be 28 metres long, 5 metres wide, and the nets will be 3 metres tall. It will be fully netted, sides and top, except for the northern end which opens out onto vacant land.
The location of the pitch is designed to keep cricket balls well away from homes and pedestrians.
Feedback
Douglas Shire Council is inviting feedback on any and all aspects of the proposed practice cricket pitch nets.
Two markers have been provided in Lou Prince Park to indicate the 3 metre height, which is well below the 5 metre high poles for the shade cloth over playground equipment.
