INDIVIDUALS and organisations with ideas to enrich the community or grow the local economy are encouraged to apply for a Douglas Shire Council grant.
Council will be inviting grant applications for local projects under the 2020/21 Council Grants Program next month.
Staff will hold information sessions in Mossman, Port Douglas and Diwan from Tuesday, August 4.
Interested applicants are invited to RSVP to Council by July 31.
Douglas Shire Council Deputy Mayor Lisa Scommazzon encouraged people to come forward with their ideas.
“Council grants provide a fantastic opportunity to get some funding to help bring a great idea to fruition,” she said.
“Get in touch with Council staff, work on your ideas and come along to the information sessions in August to see how you can apply.”
“I look forward to seeing some new community-driven initiatives for Council to get behind.”
