Douglas Shire Council is conducting a community forum to provide information to and receive feedback from residents, community groups and businesses north of the Daintree River.
The community forum will be held at the Diwan sports shed between 10am and 2pm on Thursday, August 28.
The forum will be conducted over four 50-minute segments to allow people to attend sessions of interest.
Session subjects and times:
10-10.50am – Communication and broad community matters – Identifying concerns essential to the communities north of the Daintree River.
11-11.50am – Growing the Daintree economy – Harnessing opportunities to promote the economic development of Daintree businesses.
11.50am-12.10pm – Lunch – Please bring your own lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided.
12.10pm-1pm – Environment – Nurturing our environment to preserve and enhance the Daintree wilderness.
1.10pm-2pm – Disaster management – Building community resilience to better prepare and reduce the impact of natural disasters on Daintree communities.
Everyone is welcome to come along and hear what Douglas Shire Council is doing to support the Daintree communities and share their ideas on how to improve the Daintree as a place to live and do business.
