The Daintree Ferry may not take heavy vehicles across the river during low tide today from 1pm to 3.30pm.
Douglas Shire Council and the ferry contractors apologise for any inconvenience.
All other traffic can cross the Daintree River as normal.
Dredging works are scheduled to start tonight.
This will not impact normal operation.
Recent flooding caused a build up of sand in the ferry channel and the vessel bumped into a sandbar earlier in the week, causing the cable and plastic guides to slip off the drive wheel.
