The completion of the Bloomfield Crossing bridge construction at Wujal Wujal is fast approaching and as such the approach roadworks have begun.
Motorists are advised by the Department of Main Roads and Transport of expected delays for vehicles travelling the Cape Tribulation Road from 9 July 2014 to 23 July 2014.
Whilst constructing the ‘tie in’ roadworks on the Cairns (northern) approach to the bridge, vehicles travelling the Cape Tribulation Road will be under traffic control and may be delayed for up to 20 minutes to allow for the safe construction of the new road alignment.
A five-tonne limit remains in place for the Bloomfield Causeway until the new bridge is completed, which is expected to be in late July.
The Bloomfield Track is OPEN to high clearance 4WD vehicles only. Council is conducting repairs to the Track after it sustained significant damage during the prolonged wet season and motorists using it are urged to take extreme caution. Any rain on the track will make the track extremely slippery and boggy in sections and it may become impassable.
