Planning Act 2016 Changes
New planning legislation (the Planning Act 2016) will commence in Queensland on Monday 3 July 2017.
Applications lodged prior to 3 July 2017 will continue to be assessed under Sustainable Planning Act 2009 in accordance with sections 285-289 of the Planning Act 2016.
With the commencement of the Planning Act 2016 on 3 July 2017, the State will be supporting an improved electronic development system – MyDAS2.
As a result, both eDA and the current MyDAS system will cease to accept new applications from 5pm on 30 June 2017.
Please note that the current MyDAS system will continue to be available after this date for the referral to SARA of development applications which are lodged under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 prior to 3 July 2017.
The Department has prepared a Fact Sheet to assist with this transition.
From 3 July 2017, applicants can lodge development applications via the State Government’s eDA portal.
