Ergon Energy contractors will be removing trees from various locations around Port Douglas.
The palm trees have been deemed hazardous to the power supply due to their proximity to power lines.
The works are expected to start on 16 March and will take approximately five days to complete.
The location and trees to be removed are:
Port Douglas Rd (near Seabrook Ave) – 2 x oil palms marked
Port Douglas Rd (1 Seabrook Ave) – 2 x palms marked
Corner of Mahogany & Ti Tree Sts – trees marked at both poles
1 Ti Tree St – 1 x coconut palm marked
8 Ti Tree St – 1 x umbrella tree marked
135 Davidson St – 1 x coconut palm marked
17 Sand St – 1 x coconut palm marked
30-32 Warner St – various trees to be removed
1 Cowrie St – 2 x Alexander palms
14 Nautilus St – 2 x Bismarck palms
Reef St (at end of Nautilus St, bus shelter) – 2 x coconut palms
