The Port Douglas Gran Fondo Festival will be held over three days next month, 9 – 11 September.
The 136km and 100km Gran Fondo courses, and the 48km Medio Fondo course will take place on Sunday 11 September. All Three courses will travel along Great Barrier Reef Drive, from Palm Cove into Port Douglas. Road closures will be in place, in stages to minimise impact as much as possible.

Sunday 11 September
Southbound
Port Douglas to Cairns, from Teamsters Park (Willie Pye Memorial Park), Craiglie to Palm Cove Boulevard, Palm Cove will be closed from 6:00am – 1:30pm.
Northbound
Cairns to Port Douglas from Palm Cove Boulevard, Palm Cove to Wangetti Beach Road, Wangetti will be closed from 5:30am to 11:30am
Wangetti Beach Road, Wangetti to Teamsters Park (Willie Pye Memorial Park), Craiglie will be closed from 6:00am – 1:30pm
Emergency vehicles will still have full access to Great Barrier Reef Drive in both directions between Port Douglas and Cairns during these times.
