Local civil contractors are invited to a pre-tender lodgement information session for Council’s National Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) road rehabilitation program.
Council released two tenders for the NDRRA road rehabilitation program on Wednesday 11 March and will hold an information session at 9.30am on Wednesday 18 March to assist in the tender lodgement process.
Mayor Julia Leu said that while the information session is targeted at prospective principal contractors, local contractors can also attend and register on the day to find out more about the process and offer their services to tenderers.
“The NDRRA tender documents are substantial and include the details of all the businesses and contractors on Council’s Preferred Supplier List for Wet and Dry Hire to encourage prospective principal contractors to utilise local sub-contractors,” Mayor Leu said.
“This is a multi-million-dollar program involving repairs to around 100 roads in the Douglas Shire as a result of Cyclone Ita and another monsoonal event in February 2014. It is an unprecedented opportunity for experienced local contractors to be involved in such a large-scale road repair program in the Douglas Shire.”
The NDRRA road rehabilitation program is jointly funded by the Federal Government and the State Government and managed by Council.
North of Daintree River Road Rehabilitation (Contract No. DSCNDDRA011) and South of Daintree River Road Rehabilitation (Contract No. DSCNDRRA012) tender documents are available from www.lgtenderbox.com.au. The information session will be held at Council’s Mossman Administration Building from 9.30am on Wednesday 18 March.
Tenders close at 2pm on Friday 10 April 2015.
