BOX OFFICE hits will be screening at the Mossman Pool for the first time ever when a Dive-in-Movie program for the school holidays kicks off next month.
A series of family-friendly releases, such as Toy Story 4 and Aladdin, will be showcased in a matinee-style afternoon event at the Mossman Pool over six weekends in December and January.
Douglas Shire Mayor Julia Leu said the dive-in movie program is the perfect way to beat the heat while keeping the kids entertained over the school holidays.
“We know people, especially families, will love the new dive-in movie program at the Mossman Pool,” she said.
“It’s an exciting initiative that Council is really looking forward to delivering over the Summer school holiday period.
“Council recently took over management of the pool, completed an extensive list of upgrades and this fantastic program is a great excuse to come and check out the facilities.
“Bring your lilos, pool toys, picnic blankets and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment or make the most of the weekend and book a staycation at the Caravan Park next door.”
The movies will be played on a big screen from 3.30pm on each day.
Council has also installed new BBQs at the pool to further encourage people to use the facility over the summer break.
