Council has inspected this tree on Grant Street in Port Douglas, following reports it was hit by a vehicle.
The inspection revealed the tree has sustained prior damage, resulting in extensive decay and fungal growth on the trunk. The trunk is also heavily weighted over the road and sounds hollow when tapped with a fibreglass mallet, raising significant safety concerns.
