Douglas Shire Council are looking for a Senior ICT Officer who can support and maintain various applications within Council. The role would suit someone who enjoys customer contact and working with a small collaborative team.

The Senior ICT Officer’s primary objectives are to:

  • Provide operational support, in a timely, friendly and guiding manner.
  • Mentor business users and peers with the aim of ensuring optimal efficiency & use of ICT systems.
  • Focus on Applications and specifically, Council’s Enterprise Suite.
  • Perform Data manipulation, problem solving & report writing.
  • Perform systems maintenance / administration and upgrades to Council’s core ICT systems.
  • Manage projects as assigned and deliver tasks / outcomes as per agreed time scales.
  • Deliver project tasks and resolve project issues with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Contribute to design and future planning of ICT related processes and systems.
  • Participate in corporate planning initiatives, projects and working groups.
  • Work within established processes and procedures, under general direction from supervisor or more senior ICT Officers.
  • Able to exercise initiative in the application of work practices.
