AN AUSSIE Family Pool Party will give people a chance to cool off at the Mossman Pool this Australia Day.

Douglas Shire Council and Mossman Rotary Club are partnering to deliver the FREE family event featuring entertainment from local band, the Walker Brothers.

The Rotary Club will host a free sausage sizzle and lamingtons, with popcorn and slushies available for purchase.

The event will run from 11AM to 3PM on Tuesday 26 January.

Douglas Shire Mayor Michael Kerr said expected a big turnout to the free community event.

“The Aussie family fun day will be a fantastic way to bring our diverse community together in a fun way to celebrate Australia Day,” he said.

“We are delighted to work with the Rotary Club of Mossman to bring this event to the Shire.

“We hope to see lots of families come out and experience our wonderful pool.”

Rotary Club of Mossman member John Anich said the club was particularly excited to be co-hosting the event.

“For over 100 Years, Rotary in Australia has been brining communities together, ‘he said.

“This year’s theme is Reflect, Respect, and Celebrate – We are all part of the story.”

This is a COVID safe event and capacity at the pool facility is limited to 200. Places awarded on a for come first served basis.
