UPDATE: The repairs to the Port Douglas water main are now completed and all services fully restored.
URGENT UPDATE: Douglas Shire Council will need to turn off the water main for up to one hour from 2pm today to repair damage caused by a contractor on the Port Douglas Rd roadworks yesterday. Council apologises for any inconvenience as a result of these repairs and will have the problem fixed as promptly as possible with no further inconvenience anticipated. The disruption may affect up to 80 per cent of Port Douglas users.
URGENT UPDATE: Council staff have repaired the air valve on the water main into Port Douglas which was damaged by roadworks on Port Douglas Rd earlier this afternoon. All residents and businesses should now have their water services restored.
