With over 150 artisan stalls attending each Sunday, the iconic Port Douglas Markets are famous for serving up a wide variety of hand-crafted goods, aboriginal artwork, locally produced food and seasonal fresh produce. Spectacularly located by the charming St Marys By The Sea chapel, overlooking the pristine Coral Sea, this unique tropical market is a must when visiting the region.
Tips for visitors
- The Port Douglas Markets are open every Sunday excluding Christmas Day and ANZAC Day. Our stallholders are equipped to trade all year round through our changing seasons.
- In a severe weather situation, the Markets may need to be closed for safety. In the unlikely event of this happening, we will post an update on Douglas Shire Council Facebook Page.
- There is a water refill station located at the Macrossan St entry to Market Park, and two bubblers located in the Markets. To reduce the use of single-use plastics and to ensure our visitors stay hydrated, we encourage all attendees to bring a water bottle.
- Reflecting its natural surrounds, market walkways are grassed and gravel resulting in uneven surfaces. Assistance and caution may be required.
- Parking is available adjacent to market park, Macrossan St, Crystalbrook marina and the car park at Rex Smeal Park. Parking can be limited during our busy Sunday Market hours. Where possible we encourage shuttle transport.
- The Port Douglas Market Coordinator tent is located near the bell tower at St Marys church. Please see Market Staff at the coordinators tent for first aid, lost and found and general enquiries.
