Port Douglas Markets

The iconic Port Douglas Markets were established almost 35 years ago and are famous for serving up a wide variety of  hand-crafted goods, locally produced food and seasonal fresh produce. In 1998, Council decided that the famous Port Douglas Sunday Markets would be a “Cotters Market”, thereby ensuring that goods offered for sale were made by the stallholder.

Market Park, Port Douglas. Market Park adjoins ANZAC Park and is located on Wharf Street, overlooking the picturesque Dickson Inlet and the Daintree Rainforest.

COVID-19 - Check In Qld

The Check In Qld App QR code must be available at every market stall.

The Check In Qld app enables Queensland venue operators to easily comply with current directions by enabling customers to self-check-in at venues and have their information stored securely for Queensland Health for contact tracing (if required).
Douglas Shire Council encourages market stall operators to register for their own QR Code, especially where market stall holders have operations across various community markets.

  • A carpark is located adjacent to Market Park, although it can quickly fill up on busy days.
  • Alternative parking can be found along suburban streets or at the Crystalbrook Marina, Port Douglas.
  • Reflecting its natural surrounds, the market grounds are grassed and not equipped with paved pathways. The ground may be uneven in sections and assistance may be required.

Application - Stallholder Port Douglas Markets

  • 1. Applicant Details

    If applicant is accepted, stallholders are required to operate for the duration of the market day on Sundays from 8:00am - 1:30pm held in the Market Park and must follow the Port Douglas Markets Policy provided to every stallholder.
    Please note that a permanent stallholder may be allocated a regular stall position by the market Coordinator if attending the markets on a regular long-term basis. This status cannot be assumed until confirmed in writing.
    Powered sites are available, please contact the Market Coordinator who will organise this for you. There is an extra $10 charge for those that require power

    (Quoted fees are weekly charges, GST inclusive and are valid for the duration of permit being 1 July 2021 - 30 June 2022)
    Not for profit organisations that assist the people of Douglas and schools may be eligible for up to 12 free stalls per years. Bookings should be made in advance with the Market Coordinator

    Mossman Community Markets

    At this relaxed, country market you’ll find fresh produce available for purchase straight from the farmers themselves. You’ll also find beautiful, local organic produce and handcrafted items. Wander through the market stalls positioned under the shady canopy of huge, ancient Raintrees, next to the historic St David’s Church.

    • A public accessible toilet is located next to the All Abilities Play Ground opposite the market.
