Douglas Shire Council’s Civil Works department attends to a large variety of maintenance tasks. A maintenance schedule has been developed to program our regular cyclic works. We endeavour to continuously improve our maintenance schedule with an emphasis on delivering maintenance in an efficient and coordinated manner, demonstrating consistent value for money.

Main Roads
Department of Transport and Main Roads are responsible for:
- Captain Cook Highway
- Mossman-Daintree Road to Daintree Village.
- Mossman-Mount Molloy Road
- Port Douglas Road to Wharf Street
In Mossman and Port Douglas, DTMR are responsible for the running lanes (from edge line to edge line). Drains, kerb and channel, and parking including center parking is the responsibility of Council.
