Clink Theatre – Saturday May 27

7pm

More than Tea and Scones is a new theatrical production about the women of the Queensland Country Women’s Association. It recognises 100 years of effort in 2023, its centennial year.

Written by award-winning Cairns playwright Angela Murphy of Veranda Theatre, the show could be set in any CWA hall.

Angela travelled over 2200km, visited 22 CWA halls across North Queensland and interviewed over 70 women. Their stories have been woven together to create a funny and insightful piece of theatre appealing to anyone who cares about their community.

Directed by Rachel Terry, featuring Liz Christensen, Roz Pappalardo, Sarah Speller and Natalie Taylor, and supported by Fiona Sewell.  With thanks to Cath Willacy, Deb Kembler and Ian Cole.
