Underground conduits and cabling needs to be installed before Council plan to install fairy lights in trees along Macrossan Street can progress.
To do this safely, a contractor will be identifying exactly where the streetβs gas pipeline is located and all other underground assets. That process will begin on Wednesday (February 28).
Then in mid to late next month, underground conduits will be installed for the electrical cables to be run.
Further updates on the roadworks interruption will be provided in March.
The work is being done at this time of the year as it is the tourism low period and prior to Easter holiday break.
