About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Manager Infrastructure Planning & Delivery is responsible for end to end planning, engineering advice, design development, asset management and delivering capital works programs that provide high quality infrastructure for the Douglas Shire Community. You’ll oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage project lifecycles, and ensure alignment with Council’s strategic objectives, asset management plans and community needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of high quality infrastructure projects for Douglas Shire.
- Develop, implement and review project management frameworks, plans and practices.
- Develop and manage the Annual Capital Works Program, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high standards.
- Contribute to the development of master plans, strategies and strategic projects.
- Provide expert technical advice regarding engineering, asset management and project management.
- Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, and community stakeholders to ensure effective project outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in infrastructure delivery practices.
- Provide high-level advice to the Executive Leadership Team and elected members.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in infrastructure planning, engineering and capital works delivery, preferably within local government or a similar environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- A sound understanding of asset management principles and infrastructure funding mechanisms.
