The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is planning to carry out safety improvements on Mossman – Daintree Road and Bamboo Creek Road intersection.
The project is part of a package of works under the Queensland Governments Safer Roads Sooner (SRS) program. The SRS program aims to improve safety on the state-controlled road network with locations selected based on a history of crashes or key safety concerns.
The planned works include installation of a channelised right turn from Mossman – Daintree Road into Bamboo Creek Road to improve safety and traffic flow. To support the upgrade, a section of Mossman – Daintree Road will require road widening.
TMR representatives will commence engagement with nearby property owners in late-July 2025 to discuss the project further and address any potential impacts.
Construction is expected to commence in late-2025.
