Public Notice: Tree Maintenance Works – Oak Beach
Tree maintenance works will be carried out in Oak Beach, on Oak Street on Wednesday 26 November 2025 (weather permitting).
Location
- Oak Street road corridor (street trees along the roadway and near driveways)
- Trees adjacent to 3 Oak Street
- Trees adjacent to 15 Oak Street
What’s Happening
Pruning several street trees to improve safety and access for vehicles and pedestrians while maintaining tree health and appearance.
- General street tree pruning – Oak Street corridor
- Lifting and trimming canopies to maintain safe clearance over the road, footpaths and driveways.
- 3 Oak Street
- Removing vines from the trunk and canopy.
- Removing dead or failed branches, including a large dead limb overhanging the house/road, to improve safety.
- 15 Oak Street
- Lifting and lightly pruning a fig tree to improve clearance for the road, driveway and nearby beach access path.
- Only minor canopy reduction will be undertaken to retain the tree’s natural form.
All pruning will be carried out in accordance with AS 4373–2007 Pruning of Amenity Trees. Live foliage removal will be kept to around 15–20% per tree. Dead and failed branches will be removed where required. All green waste will be chipped and removed from site, and roads, paths and driveways will be left clean.
Traffic and Access
- Works will be undertaken by Council’s contractor, with external traffic control in place.
- Short delays and changed traffic conditions may occur; motorists and pedestrians are asked to follow signage and the directions of traffic controllers.
- Property access will be maintained, with brief interruptions only while works are occurring directly over driveways.
