Tree Pruning Works at Macrossan Street, Port Douglas
Tree pruning works will be undertaken along Macrossan Street to improve safety for pedestrians, traffic, and surrounding buildings.
When
Thursday 29 January 2026
- Approx. 6:00am – Site setup
- 7:00am – Works commence
- Approx. 12:00pm – Pack up and site reinstatement
Where
Macrossan Street, Port Douglas
From the Grant Street intersection to the front of the Coles Shopping Centre complex
The works will include:
- Lifting of tree canopies impacting traffic lanes and footpaths, and trees contacting nearby buildings
- Canopy reduction of:
- The large fig tree in front of N17 in the centre garden, and
- The African Mahogany closest to Grant Street, also within the centre garden
Traffic Impacts
- External traffic control will be in place
- Temporary road closures within the work zone are expected
- Delays should be anticipated
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to follow all traffic control directions and signage.
