Water Supply Interruption | Thursday 19 June 2025

Douglas Shire Council advises that water supply to all of Newell Beach will be temporarily interrupted on Thursday, 19 June from 9:00am to 3:00pm to allow for essential water infrastructure upgrades.
These works are part of Council’s ongoing efforts to improving and modernising the region’s water network.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the community’s understanding and cooperation during this time.
During the shutdown a water truck will be located in the reserve near the public toilets. Residents will need to bring their own buckets.
Residents are also being encouraged to prepare for the six hour shut down by:
- Put a bucket water beside each toilet
- Fill water bottles and containers for drinking water
