Anzac Day is a time for us to come together as a community to honour the bravery, sacrifice, and resilience of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZACs) who landed at Gallipoli 110 years ago.

This day holds a special place in our hearts as we remember those who have served and continue to serve our nation.

In Douglas Shire, we have several services planned to commemorate this significant day. We invite everyone to join us in paying tribute to our heroes and reflecting on the values of courage, mateship, and perseverance that define the ANZAC spirit.

ANZAC Day Services – 25 April 2025

Mossman

The dawn service at the Mossman Cenotaph on Front St will begin at 5:15 AM, with official proceedings starting at 5:25 AM. Dignitaries from the Mossman RSL, the clergy, and the Douglas Shire Council will be present to honour the fallen and those who have served.

Port Douglas

In Port Douglas, people will gather at Port Village in Macrossan Street from 10:00 AM and begin the march towards the cenotaph at 10:15 AM. The official proceedings will then commence at the cenotaph in ANZAC Park at 10:30 AM.

Cow Bay

In Cow Bay, attendees will meet at My Pathways car park (1475 Cape Tribulation Road) at 5:00 AM and march to the Cow Bay Cenotaph. Official proceedings will begin at 5:25 AM.

Groups Attending Anzac Day Services

School groups, community groups, and sporting clubs are welcome to attend the services. We kindly request that you be mindful of the space at the cenotaphs and the space required for each group.

Daintree Ferry

To accommodate those wishing to attend the services, the Daintree Ferry will begin operations from 4:00 AM.

As we gather to commemorate Anzac Day, let us remember the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women and the enduring legacy they have left behind. Their courage and dedication continue to inspire us and remind us of the importance of unity and resilience.

We look forward to seeing you at the Anzac Day services and standing together as a community to honour our heroes. Lest we forget
