Low-altitude helicopter surveys are scheduled for ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ก๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐๐๐, between 7:00am and 3:00pm (weather permitting).
These flights are part of an annual joint operation between Douglas Shire Council and QPWS, targeting the invasive vine Hiptage benghalensisโa fast-spreading weed marked for eradication in our region.
Survey areas include:
- Mossman Gorge
- Mossman & South Mossman rivers/creeks
- North to Finlayvale/Santacatterina
Note: If winds are too strong, flights will be postponed to a calmer day in early to mid September.
