Savannah Sounds will deliver three days of live music at Rex Smeal Park, with the official program released today ahead of the Port Douglas Carnivale weekend from Friday 22 May to Sunday 24 May 2026.
Presented by Douglas Shire Council with major sponsor Newsport, the event features national touring acts, emerging artists and local performers, including Jon Stevens, Vanessa Amorosi, Sneaky Sound System and Dragon, alongside a strong supporting line‑up across the three days.
James Dein, festival director and Sound Australia chief executive officer, said the program announcement will allow festivalgoers to plan their weekend and make the most of the music offering.
“Friday is a family‑friendly night, with great music, food and one of the best spots in town to watch the fireworks over the water,” he said.
“Saturday is going to be huge with Jon Stevens, Vanessa Amorosi and Kingswood, while Sunday rounds out the weekend with Dragon bringing the hits. It is shaping up to be a fantastic weekend and a Carnivale party not to be missed.”
Friday night kicks off with local DJs from 4.30pm, followed by Racounters at 7pm, the Carnivale fireworks display at 8pm, Kairos Kin at 8.15pm and Sneaky Sound System closing the night at 9.30pm.
Gates open on Saturday at 12pm with Taylor Sheridan, Carinda Christie, Austin Mackay and Sara Berki throughout the afternoon, before Kingswood takes the stage at 6.15pm. Vanessa Amorosi performs at 8pm, followed by Jon Stevens at 9.45pm.
Sunday opens at 1pm with The Joker Pokers, Pelicana, Hillbilly Goats and Whiskey performing across the afternoon, before Dragon brings the festival to a close at 7.45pm.
Dein said the program had been curated to encourage people to spend the full weekend in Port Douglas.
“This is a destination event. The set times are designed so people can enjoy the town during the day and come together at Rex Smeal Park each afternoon and evening for the music.”
Savannah Sounds runs from 22 to 24 May 2026 at Rex Smeal Park, Port Douglas. Food trucks and a licensed bar will operate on site across all three days.
