The advice has been cancelled for Cooktown to Palm Island, including ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐ƒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฅ๐š๐ฌ, Cairns, Innisfail and Palm Island.
There is a decreasing chance of a tropical cyclone forming near the North Tropical Coast, but impacts still expected.
Tropical Low 29U is in the Coral Sea to the northwest of Willis Island. It is expected to move to the southwest today, and cross between Cairns and Townsville during Friday.

Heavy rain developing between Cooktown and Cape Tribulation will extend to Port Douglas today, with a risk of flash flooding and localised landslides.
Heavy rain in the Douglas area will continue tonight and into tomorrow.
Galeโ€‘force winds and severe thunderstorms possible along exposed coastal areas.
Minor Flood Warnings are current for the Daintree and Mossman Rivers; the Bloomfield River remains in a Flood Watch.

The Local Disaster Management Group has moved to Lean Forward.

Council’s Disaster Management Unit is currently monitoring Tropical Low 29U. The low is expected to bring periods of heavy rainfall and winds over the coming days.
