Council is calling tenders for repairs to the Rex Creek inlet – the water intake for Mossman’s and Port Douglas’ raw water supply.
This inlet structure was badly damaged during flooding associated with Tropical Cyclone Jasper in December 2023.
Council is calling tenders on Friday 13 September for repairs to this inlet and other associated safety upgrades.
Works include rectification and modification of damaged concrete, new inlet structure, supply and install new inlet grates and new raised access walkways and associated handrailing.
Tenders will be open for three weeks and close at 12pm on Friday 4 October.
Work is due to begin in November and be completed by the end of the year (dependent on weather conditions).
