200 athletes will be running laps of Macrossan street to compete in the 2023 Oceania Triathlon Cup and Championships Port Douglas on Saturday 27 May 2023.

The Course includes a 1500m swim at Four Mile Beach, 40km ride along Port Douglas Rd and other small roads near the Surf Club area including Garrick Street, Sand Street and the Esplanade, and a 10km run on Macrossan Street and the Esplanade.

Athletes will be competing to win $10,000 in prize money.

The event is the second one to be held in Port Douglas and brings with it a crew of 100.

Changed Road Conditions Saturday 27 May 2023

  • Port Douglas Road will be closed from Mahogany Street to Macrossan Street from 7:45am to 11am – Detour via Davidson St /Wharf Street.
  • Garrick street, between Mowbray Street & Macrossan Street will be closed from 7:45am – 11am.
  • Mowbray Street from the Esplanade to Davidson Street will be closed from 7:45am – 11am.
  • Macrossan Street from the Esplanade to Wharf Street outbound lane only. Inbound lane will be closed from 6am to 11am

Traffic controllers will be stationed at the road closures assisting traffic when required.
