Notice of Water Supply Interruption

As part of Douglas Shire Council’s commitment to improving water security, operational upgrades will be undertaken on critical water supply infrastructure across the Shire.

Residents in the affected areas may experience temporary water outages or fluctuations in water pressure during these works. In Cassowary and Mowbray, complete water loss is expected for the duration of the scheduled works. Council encourages residents to store enough drinking water in advance.

Works are scheduled as below:

Wonga
Date: Friday, 10 April 2026 | 8AM  – 12PM
Including sections of Whyanbeel, Rocky Point and Bamboo could experience water fluctuations. If you experience complete loss of water, please contact Council.

North Mossman
Date: Friday, 27 March 2026 | 8AM- 2PM
Residents in North Mossman area may experience fluctuations in water pressure. If you experience complete loss of water, please contact Council.

Whyanbeel
Date: Thurday, 9 April 2026 | 8AM – 12PM & Friday, 10 April 2026 | 12PM – 4PM
Including sections of Rocky Point and Bamboo could experience water fluctuations. If you experience complete loss of water, please contact Council.

Cassowary
Date: Thursday, 26 March 2026 9AM – 1PM
Properties along Mossman Mount Molloy Road, Ponzo Road, Lower Cassowary Road, Upper Cassowary Road and Warner Road are expected to have no water during the works.

Mowbray
Date: Wednesday, 25 March 2026 | 9AM – 1PM
Properties along Captain Cook Highway south of Beor Street and Mowbray River Road are expected to have no water during the works.
