Douglas Shire Council is seeking a Program Accountant DRFA to join the Corporate Accounting team for a maximum term to July 2027.
This role will provide technical accounting support to ensure Disaster Recovery projects are delivered within budget and in compliance with funding guidelines, accounting standards, and relevant Local Government legislation.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor of Commerce/ Business or other related discipline and considerable knowledge and experience in accounting.
- Minimum 5 years of high-level accounting experience in a Local Government environment or small to medium multi-function organisation.
- Working knowledge of accounting standards, regulations and guidelines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
- Experience in dealing with auditors and funding bodies.
