Douglas Shire Council is seeking a Disaster Resilience Officer to join our Disaster Management team to help strengthen disaster preparedness and business continuity across Council and the community.
Using your project management and stakeholder engagement skills, you will deliver initiatives that enhance resilience and support emergency preparedness outcomes.
Position Objectives
- Support the identification of critical organisational functions, ability to maintain core service delivery, plan for disruption and improve readiness.
- Work with limited direction the position applies strong project management, stakeholder engagements, facilitation, analytical and written communication skills to enable development of practical tools, plans and activities that contribute to an inclusive all hazard approach to emergency preparedness.
- Exercise professional judgement, initiative and autonomy in coordinating all activities, managing stakeholder relationships, preparing reports and delivering agreed project deliverables in line with funding timelines and objectives.
