A major milestone has been reached on the new Noah Creek Bridge, with all eight foundation piles now successfully installed.

Each pile measures approximately 15-metres long and weighs about 35 tonnes.

To create a strong and durable foundation for the new bridge, the piles were drilled and concrete placed to a depth of more than 12m beneath the creek bed.

To allow the piling works to take place, Noah Creek was temporarily diverted around the construction site, giving crews access to complete this critical stage of the project.

With piling now complete, attention is turning to the bridge structure itself. The transportation of large concrete bridge components began last week and will continue this week, bringing another impressive sight to the construction site.

As these bridge elements are installed over the coming weeks, the new crossing will really begin to take shape, providing the first clear glimpse of what the finished structure will look like.

The $12 million project is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the joint Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
