The 2015 Carnivale Beach Day will offer up a lively array of tropical sights, sounds and activities as part of the annual Port Douglas Carnivale on Saturday, May 23rd. The afternoons activities are scheduled to commence from 1pm and this year we are proud to host the Austrhorse archery competition with international warriors competing in a series of challenges proved to be a massive hit in 2014. Its going to be even bigger and better in 2015 with more teams, more horses and more surprises!
From 10am the sporting events commence: enrol in the novice outrigger canoeing regatta, play beach cricket, try beach tennis and be delighted and amazed by dance and gymnastic displays. There will be a dedicated Kids Fun Zone hosting the legendary sandcastle competition, treasure hunt and tug-of-war, as well as the market place serving food, refreshments and gifts on the Esplanade.
Local buskers, art happenings, pony rides and street theatre performers will be all over the beach, and there will even be a skydiving display! These are just some of the awesome events we’ve got lined up, so come along, join in and celebrate with the local community on this happy, creative and energetic afternoon of fun.
