Good Sports Workshop: Alcohol Management in Port Douglas Sporting Clubs
The Workshop will cover:
- Strategies around sensible drinking at your club
- Liquor licensing tips
- Safe travel to and from sporting activities and events to reduce road trauma
- Creating a safe and family friendly environment at your club
- How clubs can manage alcohol and illegal drugs with Good Sports.
The World Health Organisation’s research shows that sporting clubs play a critical role in modelling positive behaviours and fostering a healthy community environment. Independent evaluation of the Good Sports program by the Alcohol and Drug Foundation reveals that clubs adopting alcohol and drug management policies have seen reductions in alcohol and drug-related violence, Driving Under the Influence accidents, and community crime.
