Council is offering free mulch at Killaloe Transfer station to help with water conservation.
Starting Tuesday 29th October, free mulch will be available to domestic customers only at Killaloe Transfer Station between 9am and 4pm on every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, up until Saturday 7th December.
Mulch will not be free outside this time frame or on any other days within this period.
Mulch Reduces Evaporation, Improves Soil Health, Prevents Erosion, assists in Weed Control and aids in Temperature Regulation.
By incorporating mulch into your gardening routine, you can conserve water, promote healthier plants, and create a more sustainable garden environment.
Killaloe Transfer Station is open:
- Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5:30pm
- Sundays from 9am to 5:30pm
- Free mulch available between 9.00am and 4.00pm only
The transfer station is located at Lot 170 Killaloe Dump Road Killaloe.
Please note – Mulch will only be provided where the customer can demonstrate they can suitably restrain/cover the load.
Terms and conditions:
- Free mulch will only be available at Killaloe Transfer Station and on the days specified.
- This offer is only for domestic customers in cars, utes and/or trailers and light trucks (vehicle weight up to GVM/GCM 4.5 tonnes).
- Mulch will be loaded by staff using mechanical equipment.
- Free mulch is “green” uncured mulch, and Council does not guarantee the quality of the product. This material is not produced to Australian Standard (AS4454-2003) and may contain weed species and other non-organic remnants. Council does not assume any liability resulting from the use of this product.
- For enquiries regarding electric or crazy ant quarantine details please contact Department of Agriculture & Fisheries (DAF) on 13 25 23.
- Remember illegal dumping can incur a fine; it affects the environment and the safety of individuals. Please report any illegal dumping to 07 4099 9444.
- Normal charges apply for disposal of any other waste.
