If you enjoy leading a crew, working outdoors and seeing the results of your work every day, this could be the role for you!
Douglas Shire Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Ganger Public and Natural Areas to lead a hands-on outdoor crew responsible for maintaining some of the Shire’s most visible and valued public spaces.
About the Role
This is a practical, hands-on leadership role where you’ll supervise a small team and play an important part in keeping the Douglas Shire’s public spaces safe, welcoming and well presented.
You’ll coordinate the day-to-day activities of a field-based crew delivering maintenance across Council’s parks, gardens, streetscapes and other public and natural areas.
Working alongside your team, you’ll plan and prioritise daily works, allocate people and equipment, monitor the quality and progress of work and make sure jobs are completed safely and efficiently.
You’ll also keep an eye on the condition of the areas you work in, identifying maintenance needs, defects and hazards and helping ensure Council assets are maintained to a high standard.
