Dog Registrations are now due! (July 2018)
If you are the keeper of a dog that is more than 12 weeks old, the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008 requires that the dog must be registered with the local authority.
Council offers a range of discounts to residents including, pension concession, Level 3 Dog Obedience training and a discount for de-sexed dogs.
Council also offers free registration for puppies up to 6 months of age and for residents that meet the following criteria:
– Applicant is eligible for the AGED pension
– Dog is microchipped and de-sexed
In order to obtain a discount, residents must provide proof that they meet the eligibility criteria when registering their dog for the first time or where their circumstances have changed e.g. copy of sterilisation certificate from a vet, copy of pension card

Payments can be made online through SecurePay using your MasterCard or Visa. To make your payment online please click HERE and follow the prompts.
Contact your bank or financial institution to make payment from your savings or cheque account (credit card facilities are not available). Please quote Douglas Shire Council’s Biller Code number – 140533 and your reference number from your animal renewal notice
Payment by Mail
Remove the bottom section of your Animal Registration Renewal and mail with your cheque or money order to Douglas Shire Council, PO Box 723, Mossman QLD 4873. Cheques must be made payable to Douglas Shire Council and marked ‘Not Negotiable.’ Acceptance of a cheque is subject to collection of the proceeds. Post dated cheques are not accepted.
You can make payment at Council’s Administration Office in Mossman using cash, cheque, EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard or money order. Change will not be given on cheques or money order.
