A special thanks to the Mossman Boat and Fishing Club who hosted the event, and took kids out fishing on boats, organised games and put on a BBQ breakfast & lunch.  We also thank our other major sponsors – Hook up Charters and Sublime Sportfishing Adventures who donated generous prizes and volunteered time and boats to take the kids out fishing.

A shout out also to Phil Laycock from PES Consulting who helped facilitate the event, providing expert sustainable fishing tips to our youngsters.

Thank you to all partners including Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, Douglas Local Marine Advisory Committee, The Queensland Government’s Crocwise Team, Port Douglas Marine Rescue, Kuku Yalanji Cultural Habitat Tours, Styledia, Mossman Bait and Tackle, and Nautical Marine.

The event was made possible through the Promotion of Sustainable Fishing Practices in Douglas Program funded by the partnership between the Australian Government’s Reef Trust  and Great Barrier Reef Foundation with Support from Douglas Local Marine Advisory Committee and Douglas Shire Council.
