Overview
Summary
Water and sewerage is transported using numerous pump stations around Douglas Shire.
These pump stations require upgrades to electronic equipment, namely radios and remote programmable logic controllers, and in some cases, old switchboards need to be replaced.
Council is upgrading equipment and software (SCADA) to improve reliability, communications and control of the water and sewerage networks.
Cost of Project
Estimated supply, installation and commissioning costs for upgrade of hardware and software associated with the water and sewerage networks is $1.2 million
Additional Information
- Local contractors will be used to perform electrical installation work to complete the project
- The “pilot” SCADA system roll out confirms correct operation of new technology
- This project will also improve network security and robustnes
