Update:
Due to recent wet weather, road works on Cooya Beach Rd will now start from Thursday, June 4.
The works are expected to be completed by Wednesday, June 10.
Earlier:
Douglas Shire Council contractors are scheduled to start road works on Cooya Beach Rd from Wednesday May 20, weather permitting.
Crews will be replacing asphalt, similar to recent works on Old Port Road in Port Douglas.
Motorists can expect some minor disruptions for property access during working hours for the next few days. Please seek alternative routes where possible.
Council apologises for any inconvenience.
Works are being funded by the Commonwealth and Queensland Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
