The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will soon commence remediation works on the Mowbray River Bridge and pedestrian viewing platform.
Works are scheduled to begin in early July 2026 and are expected to continue until late September 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.
Motorists can expect minor traffic disruptions and reduced speed limits during the works. The bridge will remain open to traffic; however, short delays may occur at times.
For public safety, the pedestrian bridge and viewing platform will be temporarily closed while works are underway. Access through the pedestrian underpass beneath the bridge will remain available.
