Good news for Wonga Beach—the skatepark refurbishment is starting sooner than expected after the specialist contractor had a last-minute opening in its schedule.

Fencing will be installed around the skatepark on Tuesday 15 September, with refurbishment works commencing on Wednesday 16 September 2026.

The works are expected to take approximately two to three weeks, with completion targeted for the end of September, weather and site conditions permitting.

The skatepark will be closed while the refurbishment is underway. Council understands that this closure falls during the school holidays and appreciates the community’s patience. Taking advantage of this opportunity means the refurbishment can be completed before the wet season, ready for the community to enjoy.

Please follow all signage and remain outside the fenced work area.
