Douglas Shire Council is seeking a Trainee Administration Officer (Maximum Term to April 2027) within the Environment and Planning unit to provide administrative support, helping to achieve Council’s goals and objectives.
The role also includes undertaking and successfully completing a Certificate III in Business Administration within a twelve-month timeframe.
To apply, individuals must meet one or more of the following criteria and have not previously received government funding for a traineeship or apprenticeship, and not have already completed a Certificate III or higher qualification in the same field.
- Young people (aged 15-24 years), including those in and transitioned from out-of-home care and no longer in school
- Long-term unemployed job seekers
- Mature-age job seekers (aged 45 years or older)
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people
- Migrants and refugees from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- People with a disability
- Displaced workers
- Women re-entering the workforce
- Veterans, ex-ADF personnel and their families
